The advantage of using your fingers instead of a brush to apply the foundation or concealer is that the product is heated, allowing a softer application and avoids scratches that may be caused by a brush. This also allows you to properly dab the product on your skin. For a perfect brushed air finish, use a make-up sponge, if needed, and fill it with a translucent powder, preferably a Laura Mercier translucent powder, but some Johnson Talcum is perfect.

To give you a natural blush, choose warm colors for the cheeks. Peaches and pinks with a warm undertone are ideal for this. As tempting as it may seem, avoid cold reds and pinks as they look very make up and artificial.

No one wakes up with a perfectly winged cat's eye (unless of course you've made the serious mistake of getting an eyeliner tattooed on your eyelids * shudders *). The solution to put an eyeliner while giving the impression that you have not actually done is a technique called "Tightlining" or "invisible eyeliner". In this, you apply a very thin line of eye pencil / eye pencil without smudging on your lash line or your waterline. To make the process easier, lift your lid with one finger to expose the lash line, then fill the spaces between the lashes.
